Broom stick manufacturers

Broom sticks are primarily categorized into Natural Wood (Eucalyptus), PVC-Coated Metal, and Stainless Steel. For wooden sticks, ensure they are kiln-dried to a moisture content of 8%-15% to prevent warping and mold. For metal sticks, a wall thickness of 0.25mm to 0.40mm is standard for durability, while PVC coating should be at least 0.05mm thick to prevent rust and provide a comfortable grip.

The most critical technical detail is the thread type. Most international markets use the Italian Thread (tapered), but some regions require American Thread or unthreaded/tapered ends. You must verify the thread diameter (usually 21mm-22mm) and pitch to ensure compatibility with the buyer's existing broom heads. Requesting a fit-test video or physical samples is mandatory to avoid assembly failures.

For wooden products, FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification is highly recommended to prove sustainable sourcing, which is often a requirement for EU and North American retailers. Additionally, ensure the products comply with Phytosanitary requirements; wooden sticks must undergo fumigation and be issued a Phytosanitary Certificate to pass customs and prevent pest cross-border transmission.

A high-quality stick should pass a load-bearing test of at least 20-30kg without snapping or permanent deformation. For coated sticks, the adhesion of the PVC sleeve is vital; it should not peel under high temperatures. For outdoor use, prioritize UV-resistant coatings and anti-corrosion treatments to extend the product lifecycle in harsh environments.

Wooden broom sticks are highly sensitive to humidity. You should require the supplier to use desiccant bags inside the containers and ensure proper ventilation. For metal sticks, ensure they are packed in 5-layer corrugated cartons or woven bags with reinforced ends to prevent the ends from piercing the packaging and scratching other units during transit.

Since broom sticks are low-margin commodities, focus negotiations on MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) tiers and loading capacity. A 40HQ container can significantly lower the per-unit shipping cost compared to a 20GP. Ask the supplier for a loading plan to maximize space. On Made-in-China.com, look for 'Diamond Members' or 'Audited Suppliers' to leverage their stable supply chains for better volume-based discounts of 5-10%.

Always use secure payment terms such as L/C (Letter of Credit) for large volumes or Escrow-based services provided by reputable platforms. Before the final payment, hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Random Pre-shipment Inspection (FRI) to verify quantity, thread compatibility, and moisture levels.

Check the specific HS Code (e.g., 4417.00 for wood, 7323.99 for metal) against your country's tariff schedule. Some regions may impose anti-dumping duties on Chinese steel or wooden products. To navigate this, consult with a professional customs broker and ensure all Certificates of Origin (CO) are accurately prepared to benefit from any existing Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
