Custom tshirt manufacturers

Selecting the appropriate material is the foundation of quality. For promotional events, a 100% carded cotton or a polyester-cotton blend (65/35) is cost-effective. For high-end retail or corporate gifts, prioritize 100% Combed Compact Cotton or Pima Cotton for a smoother hand-feel and less pilling. If the T-shirts are for athletic use, ensure the supplier uses moisture-wicking polyester with Quick-Dry technology and a weight of 140-160 GSM.

The choice of technique affects both cost and durability. Screen Printing is the gold standard for bulk orders with simple logos (1-3 colors) due to its high durability and low unit cost. For intricate, multi-colored designs or small batches, DTG (Direct-to-Garment) or DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing offers superior detail. If you are ordering all-over prints on polyester, Sublimation Printing is required to ensure the ink becomes part of the fabric and never fades.

To ensure market entry and consumer safety, verify that the products meet OEKO-TEX Standard 100 (ensuring no harmful substances) and REACH regulations for the EU market. For the US market, compliance with CPSIA is mandatory, especially for children's apparel. Key performance benchmarks include Colorfastness to Washing (Grade 4 or higher), a Shrinkage Rate within +/- 3%, and Bursting Strength for knitted fabrics.

A professional supplier should support OEM/ODM services and provide Tech Packs or Mock-ups before production. Ensure they can handle specific GSM (Grams per Square Meter) requirements—typically 180-200 GSM for standard T-shirts and 220-260 GSM for premium 'heavyweight' styles. Check if they offer custom labeling (woven labels or heat-transfer neck labels) and customized packaging to enhance brand identity.

Always request a Pre-Production Sample (PPS) for physical approval before the bulk run begins. For large orders, hire a third-party inspection service (like V-Trust or QIMA) to perform a During Production Check (DUPRO) and a Final Random Inspection (FRI) based on AQL 2.5/4.0 standards to check for stitching defects, sizing deviations, and print alignment.

Focus on Tiered Pricing; for example, ask for price breaks at 500, 1,000, and 5,000 units. Negotiate payment terms such as 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L). To ensure security, prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have undergone on-site verification by independent agencies like SGS or TÜV Rheinland.

For small trial orders (<100kg), International Express (DHL/FedEx/UPS) is fastest, taking 3-7 days. For medium loads (100kg-500kg), Air Freight offers a balance of speed and cost. For large bulk shipments, Sea Freight (FCL or LCL) is the most economical. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin to help you benefit from potential Free Trade Agreement (FTA) tariff reductions in your country.

Use the Secured Trading Service provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payments until delivery is confirmed. To protect your designs, sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and a Manufacturing Agreement that clearly states the supplier cannot sell your custom designs to other buyers or third parties.
