Electronic scoreboard manufacturers

When sourcing electronic scoreboards, prioritize LED brightness and visibility distance; for outdoor use, a brightness level of ≥5000 nits is essential, while indoor models require ≥1000 nits. Ensure the digit height aligns with the viewing distance (e.g., 10-inch digits for 100 meters). Additionally, verify the IP rating—outdoor units must be at least IP65 rated to withstand rain and dust. For control systems, look for wireless RF remote capabilities with a range of at least 100 meters or Wi-Fi/App integration for modern stadium management.

To ensure market entry and safety, the product must carry CE, RoHS, and FCC certifications. For the North American market, UL or ETL listing is highly recommended for electrical safety. If the scoreboard is for professional sports, check for compliance with specific federation standards, such as FIBA (Basketball) or FIFA (Soccer) requirements regarding timing accuracy and buzzer decibel levels (typically ≥100dB).

Request the supplier to provide the LED lamp brand (e.g., Nationstar or Cree) and the estimated lifespan, which should be ≥100,000 hours. Ask for salt spray test reports if the scoreboard will be installed in coastal areas to prevent cabinet corrosion. The cabinet material should ideally be aluminum alloy or galvanized steel with powder coating to ensure structural integrity over 10+ years.

A capable supplier should offer OEM/ODM services, including logo silk-screening, custom software interfaces for different languages, and modular designs that allow for easy maintenance. Ensure they can provide variable mounting brackets (wall-mount, hanging, or tripod) to suit different venue architectures.

Electronic scoreboards are fragile high-value items. You must insist on honeycomb carton packaging with thick EPE foam or, preferably, fumigated wooden crates for LCL shipments. Ensure the contract specifies Insurance (CIF terms) to cover potential transit damage and request pre-shipment vibration testing photos from the supplier.

Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for a 2-3% spare parts kit (including spare LED modules, power supplies, and IC cards) to be included in the initial price. For large projects, propose a staged payment plan (e.g., 30% deposit, 70% after successful third-party video inspection before dispatch).

Always prioritize Audited Suppliers on Made-in-China.com who have undergone on-site verification by independent inspection companies like SGS or Bureau Veritas. Use Secured Trading Services to protect your payment until the shipping documents are verified, reducing the risk of fraud.

Check the HS Code (typically 853120) for import duties in your region. Be aware of Anti-Dumping Duties that may apply to LED products in certain markets like the EU or USA. For shipping, Sea Freight is most economical for large scoreboards, but ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin (Form E or CO) to help you benefit from preferential tariff rates under trade agreements.
