Hard briefcases manufacturers

Professional hard briefcases typically utilize Aluminum Alloy, Polycarbonate (PC), or ABS plastic. Aluminum offers the highest level of security and a premium aesthetic but is heavier. Polycarbonate provides a balance of impact resistance and lightweight portability, while ABS is a cost-effective option for high-volume promotional needs. For executive tiers, look for reinforced frames and scratch-resistant coatings to ensure long-term durability in transit.

Buyers should ensure the briefcases are equipped with TSA-approved combination locks for international travel compliance. For high-security requirements, look for dual-lock systems and tamper-evident seals. Internal features should include RFID-blocking pockets to protect electronic data and padded compartments with high-density foam to secure laptops and sensitive hardware against physical shock.

For the US market, ensure materials comply with California Proposition 65 regarding lead and phthalate content. For the EU, products must meet REACH regulations for chemical safety. If the briefcase includes electronic components (like built-in power banks), CE, FCC, and RoHS certifications are mandatory. Always request Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) from the supplier to verify the non-toxicity of adhesives and linings.

Request test reports for drop resistance (usually from 1-1.5 meters) and handle load-bearing capacity (tested up to 20-30kg). The hinge durability is a critical failure point; high-quality suppliers provide test data for 5,000+ open/close cycles. Additionally, check for water-resistance ratings (IPX4 or higher) if the briefcase is intended for all-weather professional use.

Hard briefcases are prone to surface scratching and denting during transit. Insist on 5-layer corrugated export cartons and ensure each unit is protected by a non-woven dust bag and EPE foam corner protectors. For large orders, palletization with shrink wrap is highly recommended to prevent shifting in the container. You should also consider Third-Party Inspection (TPI) before the final balance payment to verify packaging integrity.

When sourcing on Made-in-China.com, focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume. Start by requesting a sample (usually at a higher unit price) to verify quality, then negotiate a refund of the sample fee upon the first bulk order. Discuss OEM/ODM customization early, such as laser-engraved logos or custom interior layouts, as these affect the lead time and unit cost. Aim for 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) for established suppliers.

Utilize Secured Trading Services offered by platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your funds. Avoid direct transfers to private bank accounts; always use the company’s official corporate account verified on the platform. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the incoterms (e.g., FOB, CIF), detailed product specifications, and the agreed-upon lead time to provide legal recourse in case of disputes.

Due to the volumetric weight of hard briefcases, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economical for bulk orders. For urgent samples or small batches, International Express (DHL/FedEx) is faster but significantly more expensive. If shipping to the US or Europe, consider DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms if you want the supplier to handle all customs clearance and local taxes, simplifying your internal logistics.
