Lvt manufacturers

Selecting LVT requires matching the wear layer thickness to the intended use. For residential areas, a 0.3mm (12 mil) wear layer is sufficient, while commercial spaces like offices or retail stores require at least 0.5mm (20 mil) or 0.7mm (28 mil) for high-traffic durability. Additionally, choose between Dry Back (Glue-down) for permanent installations and Click-Lock (SPC/WPC core) for easier, floating installations.

Ensure the product meets Floorscore certification or DIBt standards to guarantee low VOC emissions and indoor air quality. For fire safety, look for EN 13501-1 Class Bfl-s1 or ASTM E648 Class I ratings. If exporting to Europe, CE Marking is mandatory, while REACH compliance ensures the absence of harmful phthalates and heavy metals.

Conduct a scratch resistance test using a coin or key to check the toughness of the UV coating. Perform a waterproof test by submerging a sample for 24 hours to ensure zero swelling. Also, verify the dimensional stability by checking if the tile warps under heat (simulating sunlight), and ensure the locking system strength (for click LVT) can withstand at least 1.5kN/m of pulling force.

Prioritize LVT with a double UV coating to prevent fading from sunlight and enhance stain resistance. For acoustic comfort, look for tiles with pre-attached IXPE or Cork underlayment, which can reduce sound transmission by up to 18-22dB. High-quality LVT should also feature a fiberglass layer within the core to prevent shrinkage and expansion in varying temperatures.

The biggest risks include color batch variation and shipping damage. Always request a production sample from the actual mass production batch to confirm color consistency. To prevent damage, ensure the supplier uses heavy-duty pallets with corner protectors and plastic shrink wrap, as LVT is heavy and prone to edge chipping if handled roughly.

Focus on the Total Landed Cost rather than just the FOB price. Negotiate for free spare parts (1-2% extra planks) to cover installation wastage. For orders exceeding 5,000 sqm, aim for a 5-10% volume discount or request customized packaging/branding at no extra cost. Using Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services can also provide leverage in ensuring quality before final payment.

LVT is a high-density, heavy product; a standard 20ft container usually reaches its weight limit (approx. 27 tons) before it is physically full. Ensure your logistics provider is aware of the weight to avoid overweight surcharges at the port. Always clarify the Incoterms, preferably using FOB or CIF, and ensure the supplier provides a detailed packing list for smooth customs clearance.

Verify the supplier's factory audit reports and check if they are an Audited Supplier on Made-in-China.com. Use Escrow or Letter of Credit (L/C) for large first-time transactions. It is highly recommended to hire a third-party inspection agency (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a pre-shipment inspection to verify the wear layer thickness and quantity accuracy.
