Buyers must ensure products are made from medical-grade silicone, TPE, or ABS plastics. It is critical to verify that materials are phthalate-free and BPA-free to prevent skin irritation and ensure long-term safety. Request RoHS and REACH certification reports from suppliers to confirm compliance with chemical safety regulations, especially for the European market.

Focus on motor noise levels (ideally <50dB), battery capacity (mAh), and waterproof ratings (IPX6 or IPX7). For smart devices, confirm Bluetooth stability and app compatibility. Ensure the internal heating elements have overheat protection and that the charging interface is either magnetic or DC-protected to prevent moisture ingress.

Prioritize designs with removable internal sleeves for easy cleaning. Evaluate the tensile strength of TPE materials to ensure they do not tear after repeated use. Ask suppliers for cycle test data on motors and buttons to ensure the product can withstand at least 500 to 1,000 hours of operation without performance degradation.

For electronic models, CE, FCC, and UKCA markings are mandatory. If the product includes a lithium battery, a UN38.3 test report and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) are required for international shipping. For the US market, ensure the supplier is familiar with FDA registration requirements for Class II medical devices if the product is marketed for therapeutic use.

Adult products can be subject to strict 'obscenity' laws in certain jurisdictions. Use discreet packaging and ensure the HS Code (typically 9019.10 or 3926.90) is accurately declared. Avoid provocative imagery on outer shipping cartons to prevent unnecessary customs inspections or seizures.

Request a sample order first to test material 'hand-feel' and motor quality. Negotiate based on tiered pricing; for example, aim for a 15-20% discount when moving from a 100-unit MOQ to 1,000 units. Ask for OEM/Private Labeling services, such as custom logo printing and box design, which are often included for free at higher volumes.

Always use Secured Trading Services provided by platforms like Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until the goods are shipped. Conduct a factory audit or hire a third-party inspection service (like SGS or Intertek) to perform a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify quantity and quality before final payment.

Products with built-in batteries are classified as Dangerous Goods (DG) in air freight. You must use carriers experienced in DG handling and ensure the packaging meets IATA standards. Shipping via sea freight (LCL/FCL) is generally more cost-effective for bulk orders and has less stringent battery restrictions than air express.
