Micro fleece manufacturers

When evaluating micro fleece, the most critical factor is the GSM (Grams per Square Meter), which typically ranges from 150 to 280 GSM. For lightweight base layers, 150-180 GSM is ideal, while mid-layers require 200+ GSM. Additionally, verify the filament count; a higher count (e.g., 144F or 288F) results in a softer hand-feel and better thermal retention. Ensure the fabric has undergone anti-pilling treatment (Grade 3-4 minimum) to maintain its appearance after multiple washes.

For the US market, compliance with 16 CFR Part 1610 (Standard for the Flammability of Clothing Textiles) is mandatory. For the EU, products must adhere to REACH regulations regarding chemical substances. If you are targeting eco-conscious consumers, prioritize suppliers with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 or GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certifications, especially if the fleece is made from recycled polyester (rPET).

Request third-party lab reports focusing on moisture management (wicking) and breathability (MTVP). A high-quality micro fleece should have a quick-dry rating and show minimal dimensional stability variance (shrinkage), ideally less than 3% after five home launderings. You should also check for colorfastness to rubbing and perspiration (ISO 105-X12/E04) to ensure the dye does not bleed during high-intensity use.

For activewear and outdoor gear, look for 4-way stretch micro fleece with spandex integration for mobility. For home textiles (blankets/throws), a double-sided brush finish is preferred for maximum loft and warmth. For industrial workwear, ensure the fleece is treated with anti-static finishes to prevent sparks in sensitive environments.

The biggest risk is material substitution, where a supplier uses lower-grade polyester or reduces the GSM to save costs. To mitigate this, use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services and insist on a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI). Another risk is color shading (Lab Dip variance); always approve a physical Master Sample before mass production begins.

Custom colors usually require a higher MOQ (typically 500kg to 1000kg per color). To lower costs, ask for 'stock colors' which can reduce the MOQ to as low as 1 roll (approx. 25kg). For bulk orders, negotiate based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), including sea freight vs. air freight costs, as fleece is high-volume but low-weight, making vacuum compression packing essential to reduce shipping volume.

Ensure the supplier provides a correct HS Code (typically 6001.22 for knitted pile fabrics) to avoid customs delays or incorrect duty applications. When shipping to the US or EU, verify if there are anti-dumping duties currently active on synthetic fiber textiles from the origin country. Always use FOB (Free On Board) terms if you have a reliable freight forwarder to maintain better control over the logistics timeline and local handling fees.

Always verify the supplier's Business License and Export Qualification through the Audited Supplier reports on Made-in-China.com. Avoid making full payments upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) copy is the industry norm. For first-time large orders, using an Escrow service or Letter of Credit (L/C) provides the highest level of financial protection.
