New candy manufacturers

When sourcing new candy, you must prioritize suppliers with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and ISO 22000 certifications to ensure food safety management. For specific markets, verify FDA registration for the U.S., EFSA compliance for the EU, and Halal or Kosher certifications if targeting specific dietary demographics. Always request COA (Certificate of Analysis) for every batch to verify ingredient purity.

Request a full ingredient list and nutritional facts panel to check for prohibited additives or allergens like nuts and dairy. Ensure the shelf-life is at least 12-24 months for international shipping, and confirm that the supplier uses moisture-proof and heat-resistant packaging (such as aluminum foil lining) to prevent melting or spoilage during transit through tropical climate zones.

Professional suppliers on Made-in-China.com usually offer customized molds (shapes), private label packaging, and flavor formulation. For 'New Candy' categories like functional gummies or sugar-free options, ensure the supplier can provide stability testing reports for the specific active ingredients or sugar substitutes used.

Packaging must include multi-language labeling compliant with the destination country's laws, including production and expiration dates, batch numbers, and storage instructions. High-speed automated packing should ensure a sealing strength that prevents oxidation, maintaining the candy's texture and flavor profile.

Candy is highly sensitive to temperature. For long-haul sea freight, it is critical to use Reefer Containers (refrigerated containers) set between 18°C to 22°C. Avoid shipping during peak summer months if using standard dry containers, and ensure the use of desiccants to manage humidity levels inside the carton.

Focus on tiered pricing based on volume; for example, a 500kg order vs. a 5-ton order can see a price difference of 15-25%. Negotiate for free samples (buyer pays shipping) to verify taste and texture before placing a bulk order. Additionally, discuss packaging plate-making fees, asking for a waiver if the total order value exceeds a certain threshold.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure payment is only released upon proof of shipment. Conduct a third-party factory audit (such as SGS or Intertek) to verify the supplier's sanitary conditions and production capacity, preventing 'middleman' risks where quality may be inconsistent.

Be aware of Sugar Taxes in countries like the UK or Mexico, and import quotas that may apply to high-sugar content goods. Check the HS Code (typically Chapter 17 or 18) to determine the exact customs duties. Ensure the supplier provides a Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) Certificate of Origin to potentially reduce or exempt import tariffs.
