Piercing jewelry manufacturers

When sourcing piercing jewelry, the most critical factor is biocompatibility. You must prioritize ASTM F136 implant-grade titanium or 316L surgical stainless steel to prevent allergic reactions, specifically nickel dermatitis. For high-end markets, ensure 14K or 18K solid gold is nickel-free. Always request Material Mill Test Reports (MTR) to verify the chemical composition of the metal alloys.

The quality of the finish is vital for healing. Ensure the jewelry has a mirror-polish finish (ASTM F-86 standard); any surface scratches or burrs can harbor bacteria and irritate the piercing. Furthermore, check the threading type: internally threaded or threadless (press-fit) jewelry is the industry gold standard for professional studios as it prevents tissue trauma during insertion, unlike cheaper externally threaded alternatives.

For the EU market, products must comply with the REACH Regulation (Annex XVII) regarding nickel release rates. For the US market, adherence to the Association of Professional Piercers (APP) jewelry standards is a significant selling point. Ensure your supplier can provide ISO 9001 certification for quality management and CE marking where applicable for medical-grade claims.

Your inventory should cover diverse anatomical placements. Key categories include curved barbells (eyebrows/navels), labret studs (lips/cartilage), septum clickers, and industrial barbells. For the initial piercing phase, stock longer posts to accommodate swelling, while offering shorter decorative ends for healed piercings and 'downsizing' services.

Implement a two-step verification process. First, order pre-production samples and have them tested at a local lab for nickel content. Second, utilize third-party inspection services (like those offered through Made-in-China.com) to conduct a 'Random Sampling' inspection before the final balance is paid. This ensures the bulk shipment matches the approved sample quality.

Focus on MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) flexibility rather than just the lowest price. Since jewelry is small and high-value, negotiate for mixed-style batches to diversify your catalog. Ask for tiered pricing based on weight for precious metals (Gold/Silver) and request free laser-engraving services for your brand logo on the jewelry posts to increase brand equity.

Jewelry is prone to theft and loss. Use express couriers (FedEx/DHL/UPS) with full tracking and insurance. Ensure the HS Code (e.g., 7117.19 for base metal jewelry) is correctly declared to avoid customs delays. For high-value titanium or gold orders, request vacuum-sealed anti-tarnish packaging to prevent oxidation during sea or air transit.

Always use secure payment gateways that offer buyer protection. Platforms like Made-in-China.com provide Secured Trading Services, which hold the payment in escrow until you confirm receipt of the goods. Avoid direct wire transfers to private bank accounts; always ensure the bank account name matches the registered company name on the business license.
