Plastic pegboard hook manufacturers

Prioritize hooks made from High-Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) or Glass-Fiber Reinforced Nylon for heavy-duty applications. Ensure the material includes UV stabilizers if the hooks will be used in retail windows or outdoor environments to prevent brittleness. For standard retail use, a minimum thickness of 3.5mm to 5mm is recommended to prevent snapping under weight.

Verify the pitch (distance between holes) and hole diameter. The most common international standards are 1-inch (25.4mm) spacing with 1/4-inch or 1/8-inch hole diameters. Request a technical drawing from the supplier to confirm the 'prong' design—specifically the locking mechanism (e.g., plastic locks or ribbed shanks) to ensure the hook stays secure when a product is removed.

Ensure the products are RoHS compliant (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) and REACH certified, especially if exporting to the EU, to guarantee the absence of toxic plasticizers. For retail environments, look for UL 94 V-0 or V-2 flammability ratings to meet commercial fire safety codes.

Consider Anti-Sweep (Security) hooks to prevent shoplifting in high-value aisles. For branding, choose hooks with integrated ticket holders (flip-scan labels). Ensure the tip angle is at least 30 to 45 degrees to prevent merchandise from sliding off during customer interaction.

Request a Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI) and specifically ask for a load-stress test and a flexibility test. High-quality plastic should bend slightly before breaking; if it snaps instantly, the recycled material content is likely too high. Use Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading services to hold payment until quality is verified.

Since plastic hooks are lightweight but bulky, calculate the volumetric weight carefully. For large orders, LCL (Less than Container Load) sea freight is most economical. To save costs, ask the supplier to bulk-pack in polybags within reinforced master cartons to minimize dead space, rather than individual retail packaging.

Plastic hooks are usually injection-molded, meaning MOQs are often high (5,000+ units) due to machine setup costs. If you need a custom color (Pantone matching), negotiate a sample fee that is refundable upon a bulk order. For standard white or black hooks, leverage Made-in-China.com's 'Selected Suppliers' who may carry ready-to-ship stock with lower MOQs.

Always conduct transactions through audited suppliers on professional platforms. Avoid direct transfers to private bank accounts; instead, use Escrow-based payment systems or Letters of Credit (L/C) for very large volumes. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the material grade and weight per 1,000 pieces to prevent 'material thinning' during mass production.
