Reed diffuser sticks manufacturers

The most common materials are Rattan, Fiber, and Bamboo. Rattan is the traditional choice, featuring natural 'vascular bundles' (capillaries) that wick oil upward; it is best for essential oils. Fiber sticks are man-made (polyester/cotton blends) and offer a faster, more consistent scent throw because they do not clog as easily as natural wood. Bamboo is generally not recommended for high-end diffusers as its internal nodes can block the flow of oil, leading to poor scent dispersion.

Buyers should focus on Diameter Consistency (typically 3mm or 4mm) and Length Precision (standard 20cm-30cm) to ensure they fit standard glass bottles. Porosity is the most critical technical metric; for fiber sticks, ensure a high density of longitudinal pores to prevent 'clogging' over time. Additionally, verify that the sticks are straight and burr-free to maintain a premium aesthetic for retail packaging.

For colored sticks (especially black or bright hues), you must request Colorfastness Testing Reports. High-quality suppliers use eco-friendly reactive dyes or pigment-dyed fiber that are resistant to alcohol and oil solvents. Always ask for a soaking test sample to ensure the oil remains clear after 48-72 hours of immersion.

Ensure the products meet REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) standards for the EU market to guarantee they are free from harmful substances. If sourcing rattan, look for FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification to prove sustainable forestry practices. For fiber sticks, verify they are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 compliant if they will be handled frequently by consumers.

The biggest risk is Moisture and Mold (Mildew) during sea transit, especially for natural rattan. Ensure the supplier uses desiccants (silica gel) and vacuum-sealed inner packaging. Another risk is fragility; fiber sticks can bend or snap if not packed in reinforced 5-layer corrugated master cartons.

Focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume; for orders exceeding 50,000 units, you should aim for a 15-25% discount compared to the sample price. Request Custom Packaging (OEM) such as branded paper sleeves or PVC boxes, which adds value for retail. Always confirm the Lead Time—standard production for 100k units should not exceed 15-20 days.

Since reed sticks are lightweight but can be bulky, Sea Freight (LCL) is most cost-effective for large volumes, while Air Express is better for high-value fiber sticks. Ensure the HS Code (typically 4421.99 or 9603.90) is correctly declared. For natural rattan, check if your country requires a Phytosanitary Certificate to clear customs, as it is a plant-based product.

Utilize Secured Payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. Conduct a Factory Audit or request a Video Inspection of the production line to verify the supplier is a manufacturer and not a middleman. Always insist on a Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) for large-scale orders to check for quantity and quality defects.
