Sunglasses case manufacturers

For premium markets, prioritize genuine leather or high-grade PU leather with microfiber lining to prevent lens scratching. For sports and outdoor segments, EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) hard shells are essential due to their shockproof and water-resistant properties. For eco-conscious brands, look for RPET (recycled polyester) or cork materials. Ensure the internal structure uses odorless adhesives to meet consumer health standards.

In the EU market, products must comply with REACH regulations regarding chemical substances (like lead and phthalates) and CE marking if sold as part of protective equipment. For the US market, ensure materials are California Proposition 65 compliant and meet CPSIA standards if the product is intended for children. Always request Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) from suppliers on Made-in-China.com to verify non-toxicity.

Request the supplier to perform a compression test (measuring how many kilograms of pressure the case can withstand without deforming) and a hinge cycle test (ensuring the opening mechanism lasts for at least 5,000 to 10,000 uses). For zipper cases, verify the use of SBS or YKK zippers to prevent snagging. A drop test from 1.2 meters should be standard to ensure the internal sunglasses remain protected.

Most professional manufacturers offer OEM/ODM services including debossed or embossed logos, silk-screen printing, and hot stamping. You can also customize the inner lining color, zipper puller shape, and packaging (e.g., microfiber pouches or gift boxes). For high-volume orders, custom molds for unique shapes are feasible, though they require a higher upfront tooling cost.

The primary risk is material substitution, where a supplier uses lower-grade PU instead of the agreed sample. Mitigate this by using Trade Assurance services and hiring third-party inspection agencies (like SGS or Intertek) to conduct During Production (DUPRO) and Final Random Inspections (FRI). Ensure the Golden Sample is sealed and signed by both parties.

Focus on tiered pricing structures; for example, a 15-20% price reduction is common when moving from 500 units to 5,000 units. If you are a startup, negotiate a lower MOQ for a trial order by offering to pay a slightly higher unit price, with the agreement that the difference will be credited toward your first bulk order.

Since sunglasses cases are lightweight but high-volume, they are prone to high dimensional weight charges. Use vacuum packaging or nested packing (placing smaller cases inside larger ones) to reduce volume. For large orders, Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is most economical, while Air Freight should only be used for high-value leather cases or urgent samples.

Always conduct transactions through secure payment channels provided by Made-in-China.com. Avoid direct wire transfers to private bank accounts. Use Letters of Credit (L/C) for very large transactions to ensure payment is only released upon presentation of valid shipping documents and inspection certificates.
