Welding x-ray machine manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize Tube Voltage (kV) and Tube Current (mA), as these determine the penetration depth and image clarity. For industrial steel welding, a range of 200kV to 300kV is standard. Additionally, consider the Focal Spot Size; a smaller focal spot (e.g., <1.0mm) provides higher resolution for detecting micro-cracks. Ensure the device offers Digital Radiography (DR) compatibility for real-time data processing and storage.

Due to radiation risks, the machine must adhere to ISO 17636 (Non-destructive testing of welds). For safety and electrical compliance, look for CE marking (EU), FDA/CDRH (US), or IEC 61010-1. Suppliers should provide a Radiation Safety Certificate and ensure the equipment meets IP54 or higher protection levels for use in harsh construction environments.

Portable units are ideal for field pipeline welding and onsite inspections, reducing logistics costs, though they may have lower power. Stationary cabinets offer higher throughput and better shielding, suitable for factory production lines. Calculate the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by including the cost of radiation shielding rooms, periodic calibration services, and the lifespan of the X-ray tube (typically 2,000–5,000 hours).

These machines are critical in Aerospace, Pressure Vessel manufacturing, Shipbuilding, and Oil & Gas pipelines. They are used to detect internal defects such as porosity, slag inclusion, lack of fusion, and longitudinal cracks that are invisible to the naked eye, ensuring the structural integrity of high-pressure systems.

The most significant risk is Customs Seizure due to lack of radiation import permits. Many countries classify X-ray sources as hazardous or restricted goods. Always verify if your local Ministry of Health or Environmental Protection Agency requires a License to Import. Additionally, ensure the supplier uses specialized shock-proof packaging, as the glass X-ray tube is extremely fragile and sensitive to vibrations during transit.

Focus on After-Sales Technical Support rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for a 12-24 month warranty that includes remote diagnostic support and the provision of critical spare parts (like high-voltage cables). Request a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) video or a third-party inspection report from agencies like SGS or Intertek before final payment to ensure the machine meets the agreed-upon kV output.

Use Secured Payment services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure funds are only released upon proof of shipment. For high-value industrial machinery, consider Letter of Credit (L/C) for large volumes or Telegraphic Transfer (T/T) with a structured payment plan (e.g., 30% deposit, 70% after inspection but before shipping).

For X-ray machines, Air Freight is preferred to minimize the duration of exposure to humidity and mechanical handling, despite the higher cost. If using Sea Freight, ensure the equipment is vacuum-packed with desiccant and shipped in a Full Container Load (FCL) to avoid damage from other cargo. Always insist on CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) terms to ensure the shipment is fully insured against transit damage.
